EverQuest is still around and kicking! EverQuest II to be more precise and its latest expansion, Destiny of Velious, is available today from retailers around the globe. EverQuest II Extended Platinum members will receive the expansion for free. This expansion continues where the previous one left off, unraveling the Age’s End prophecy.

I’m impressed that EQII can still hold on in the current environment with all the WoW followers and a number of other MMOs becoming free-to-play. Certain doom is headed toward the entire world of EverQuest II if “the twin Swords of Destiny, Soulfire, and the Qeynos Claymore” are allowed to be drained of their powers. Will this expansion keep the faithful fans happy and content to remain with EQII or will many make the jump to EQ2 plat. It will be up to “Norrah’s guardians” to prevent that, otherwise “if they fail, all will fall to ruin.”
